Horiba Instruments has improved its LB-500 DLS particle size analyzer through advances in optics and signal conditioning, improving the signal-to-noise ratio. The upper concentration limit is now 40% solids, eliminating dilution errors and sample preparation steps. Simultaneously, the detection limit has been decreased to provide more sensitivity to smaller or lower concentration samples. The temperature-controlled cell holder now has a range of 20-70C for samples where size may change with temperature. Horiba offers a complete range of particle characterization equipment, which includes several models of particle size analyzers (covering the size range from three nanometers to 30 millimeters), as well as surface area, pore size/volume and chemisorption instruments.
