Horiba Instruments Inc. has introduced a second autosampler option for its LA-series of particle size analyzers. The SlurrySampler allows users to supply wet slurry samples directly from the process line to the autosampler without the need for dilution, sub-sampling or other sample handling. The SlurrySampler uses a robotic arm with a mixer to agitate the sample dispersion, remove a set volume of dispersion and supply the sample to the analyzer. Together with the automation built into the LA-920, LA-910 and LA-300 analyzers, the entire sample handling and analysis procedure can be completely automated.
