Huber Engineered Materials, part of J.M. Huber Corp., recently announced a new technical brochure that discusses the application of its precipitated silica in anti-caking/free-flow and carrier applications. The brochure includes technical specifications and typical properties for both food-grade and non-food-grade silica. Precipitated silica is an effective and common "flow agent" for use in food spices and bake and beverage mixes, as well as industrial blends like inks, resins, detergents, coatings and adhesives. Silica can also be used to "carry" viscous liquids and prevent caking on machinery while increasing throughput.
