Hydropulsor AB has announced its third generation of high-velocity compaction (HVC) presses for powder metallurgy. The presses provide the ability to more economically produce higher density, higher performance parts than conventional powder presses. Densities for conventional powder materials of close to 100% of theoretical density can be achieved. "Our latest generation of presses features a number of improvements that will make them commercially attractive," said Ake Hornell, president. "Our new tool adapters offer increased efficiency and our controls are the most modern available, including automatic filing height connection for each axis, SPC logging and closed-loop control circuits for all controlled axes."
