IDGA to Hold Conference on Lightweight Materials for Defense

The IDGA has announced that it will hold its 2nd Annual Lightweight Materials for Defense conference in Washington, D.C., July 26-28, 2004.

The Institute for Defense and Government Advancement (IDGA) has announced that it will hold its 2nd Annual Lightweight Materials for Defense conference in Washington, D.C., July 26-28, 2004. Developed as a forum to promote the research, development and execution of lightweight materials for military applications, the conference will bring together representatives from related military units/organizations, government agencies, manufacturers/contractors and technology service providers. Topics will include the budgeting and cost of lightweight materials, ceramic armor, the advanced rapid manufacture of lightweight materials and components for military applications, ballistic requirements for lightweight materials, and priorities for future uses of lightweight materials and composites. Three-hour interactive workshops will be held prior to the conference on July 26 and will address manufacturing processes for lightweight materials, assessing structural design and durability, low-cost titanium, and other relevant topics.
