Imerys recently announced that it will institute price increases on North American performance mineral grade pigments. The price increases affect calcium carbonate products with an average increase of 5%, effective February 15, 2003. "Imerys remains committed to delivering customers the highest possible value," said Daniel J. Moncino, vice president and general manager of Imerys' North American Performance Minerals Division. "This commitment includes a re-investment strategy to provide quality products at competitive prices based on innovation, processing expertise and a strong customer service network. Although we continue to develop and implement productivity improvements, costs have outpaced these efforts. A price increase is necessary to support these initiatives."
