Innovative Magnetics Co. recently patented a direct contact continuous cleaning magnetic separator called the Spiral Roll Magnet. The design of the new separator is unique because it can magnetically process difficult flowing product wet or dry, and it works in virtually any process. The unit's compact size and high capacity allows for installation in the limited vertical areas common in most processing plants. The design consists of a rotating magnetic roll in a housing with an Innovative internal high strength spiral magnetic field, which provides a dual function. The magnetic field insures that all particles will directly contact the magnetic roll and pass equal magnetic high-strength areas. It also creates a magnetic screw effect to magnetically convey captured ferrous materials to a side port for immediate discharge without stopping the process.
