Setaram Inc. recently announced the appointment of Bruce Jamieson as chief executive officer (CEO) and vice president. This appointment follows the recent acquisition of Hy-Energy LLC. The two companies, Setaram Inc. and its Hy-Energy subsidiary, will be operated under the same organization and managed by Jamieson.

Jamieson has over 20 years of experience in the life sciences and laboratory automation industries, including liquid handling instruments, reagents and consumables. Most recently, he was vice president, sales and services at Labcyte. Previously, he held the position of vice president, North American and Asia Pacific Sales at Argonaut Technologies. Jamieson has a bachelor’s of science degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the University of Delaware.

“It is Bruce’s impressive track record in the high-tech and instrumentation business that left me no doubt that he was the right choice to lead and develop the new company,” said Gilles Widawski, president of Setaram Instrumentation.

“I am excited about helping Setaram continue to achieve its impressive growth and acquisition strategy,” said Jamieson. “We are working to create a center of excellence at our Newark, Calif., location that will manufacture the full line of Setaram and Hy-Energy instruments, as well as develop new products and services. Our customers and collaborators can look forward to a continuing relationship with Setaram that will be strengthened by our growing North American organization.”
