Johns Manville has completed the acquisition of Skloplast a.s., a fiber glass manufacturing company located in Trnava, Slovakia. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. "Skloplast gives us a significant presence in European fiber glass reinforcements which will allow Johns Manville to better support our global customers," said Jerry Henry, chairman and CEO of Johns Manville. "Skloplast products and markets are complementary to ours and we welcome its employees to the Johns Manville family." Skloplast is a leading Central European producer of fiber glass materials. Its products are used principally in fiber glass reinforced plastics for the construction and transportation industries, and are primarily exported to Western Europe. The company employs about 1,200 people. Included in the sale is one operation located in Trnava, Slovakia. Skloplast will become the newest division of Johns Manville Europe, which is headquartered in Frankfurt and has other manufacturing operations in Germany, England, Sweden, Poland and China.
