Keramischer OFENBAU GmbH, Hildesheim, Germany, recently delivered a shuttle kiln plant for Asian Insulators Public Co. Limited, Thailand. The kiln features firing temperatures up to approximately 1300C for reduction firing and offers a setting volume of approximately 40 m(3), with three kiln cars. The kiln is also equipped with a fully automatic reduction system to ensure soot-free operation. Asian Insulators has experienced reduced firing cycles, to less than 40 hours, and the kiln's low energy consumption has fallen below the guaranteed figures.
