Dilip C. Jain, the 2003 recipient of the Theodore J. Planj St. Louis Refractory Award, recently joined Kyanite Mining Corp. (KMC) as director of technical sales and head of Asian operations. He comes to KMC after almost 29 years with C.E. Minerals, where he most recently served as vice president of technology, marketing and China operations. In his new role, Jain will oversee and coordinate all of KMC's activities in Asia, initially focusing on growing the company's Virginia kyanite and mullite business in China, India and elsewhere through a focused sales and marketing campaign. In the future, KMC is interested in the feasibility of starting a mining, beneficiation and processing operation in Asia, and it is expected that Jain's experience in similar kinds of projects will make him a valuable asset in that phase of KMC's development.
