Kyocera Advanced Ceramics is supporting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation by giving those who love to cook an opportunity to support the fight against breast cancer. Kyocera Advanced Ceramics is offering a special edition, 5.5 in. Santoku ceramic knife with an ergonomic pink-colored handle (model number FK-140-SE; MSRP, $79.95).
The ceramic Santoku is ideal for slicing fruits, vegetables and boneless meats. For each knife sold, Kyocera will donate $5.00 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. To date, Kyocera Advanced Ceramics has donated over $162,000.
Kyocera ceramic knives hold a sharp edge 10 times longer than conventional cutlery and are typically half the weight of equivalent steel knives. Since the ceramic blade is so light, no artificial weight is added to the handle. This creates an extremely balanced, lightweight tool that becomes a comfortable extension of the hand, reducing fatigue during repetitive cutting tasks. Because they’re ceramic, Kyocera knives won’t brown foods or transfer a metallic taste or smell, and they will never rust.
The pink handled Santoku knife is available at premier specialty, gift and organic food retailers nationwide, or direct from www.KyoceraAdvancedCeramics.com.
