Kyocera's CERATIP Cutting Tool Division will introduce two new CVD-coated grades for cutting ductile cast iron -- CA4120 and CA4115 -- at the 2004 International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS 2004), September 8-15 at Chicago's McCormick Place. Kyocera's CA4120 and CA4115 grades feature a newly developed CVD coating with a very fine columnar structure specifically designed to address the challenges of cutting ductile cast iron. The new coating makes CA4120 and CA4115 cutting tool inserts more crack-, wear- and chip-resistant. As a result, these new products offer tool life double that of conventional tools.
