Kyocera Solar Receives ISO 9001 Registration (posted 8/12/08)

Kyocera Solar, Inc. recently announced the registration of its Scottsdale, Ariz., headquarters to the ISO 9001 standard, an achievement consistent with Kyocera’s commitment to quality and the support of its global customer base. Developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ISO 9001 is the world’s most widely observed family of standards for developing and maintaining quality management systems.

NSF, a leader in standards development and third-party systems registration for standards such as ISO 9001, registered Kyocera Solar, Inc. to the 9001 standard after a year-long preparation process. The company’s registration process began with in-house seminars in May 2007 that focused on training employees to become more aware of internal process measurements, their own processes, customer satisfaction, and the potential for errors. “Achieving ISO registration was a team effort, and Kyocera is proud to be a member of the elite group of businesses registered to the ISO 9001 standard,” said Keith Shellkopf, quality assurance manager.

“With this new global confirmation, we are able to reinforce Kyocera’s 34-year commitment to producing and maintaining quality products for our customers in the photovoltaic industry,” said Steve Hill, president. “Being a part of the ISO 9001 standard adds to Kyocera’s distinction as a world-class company. We will continue to monitor our processes to ensure that we maintain this distinction.”
