L&L Special Furnace Co.: Semi-Automated Quench Oven (posted 5/29/09)

The model DRQX246 is specifically designed to meet AMS2750D and AMS2770H standards, along with many other aerospace specifications.

L&L Special Furnace Co. recently shipped a semi-automated integral quench oven for a leading producer of optical, aerospace and aluminum components. The model DRQX246 oven is specifically designed to meet AMS2750D and AMS2770H standards, along with many other aerospace specifications.

The oven is reportedly ideal for aluminum parts that can be placed on a rack system. Featuring two stages, the furnace allows for true production capabilities. The typical working zone is 24 in. wide by 24 in. high by 36 in. deep, and the overall dimensions are 63 in. wide by 150 in. high by 126 in. deep (including the quench tank).

The oven interior is constructed of 304 stainless steel and includes louvers to direct air flow. It includes a 5-hp fan for convection with a motor control for consistent uniformity at low temperatures. The elements are divided into three zones with manual biasing for additional adjustment of temperature gradients. The system includes a heated and agitated stainless steel quench tank and transition bridge.
