The Las Vegas Art Museum will host a travelling collection of the works of glass artist Dale Chihuly, who created the floral chandelier in the Bellagio hotel-casino. More than 350 of Chihuly's works will be on view through April 30. From the collection of George Stroemple, a Portland, Ore., businessman and organized by the Portland Art Museum, the pieces span 20 years of the artist's career since the mid- 1970s. Included are creations from the "Venetians'' series and the "Irish Cylinders.'' Chihuly's handblown glass-ceiling sculpture at the Bellagio is made of more than 2,000 pieces of glass that soar over the resort's lobby. At 70 by 30 feet, it is the artist's largest sculpture.
