Leica Microsystems recently introduced a new line of digital microscopes that use intelligent automation to make advanced imaging techniques easy. The DM4000 M, for routine and research applications in materials science, is designed to deliver optimized imaging by selecting the objective, filter and contrast method. All aspects of the light path are automatically adjusted to the user's preferred settings. In addition, a fluorescence intensity manager (FIM) automatically sets the fluorescence illumination so that the specimen is preserved to the greatest possible extent.
