Beer enthusiasts should mark Saturday, August 4, on their calendars: the second annual "Hot Glass + Cold Beer" event is scheduled to take place at the Glass Academy in Dearborn, Mich. Michigan-brewed craft beer and local food samples will again be available for visitors to enjoy as they watch live glassblowing demonstrations. Last year’s event had such a positive response that “we just felt we had to keep the tradition alive,” says Chris Nordin, co-founder of the event.
Admission costs $55 and includes a handmade drinking vessel of the customer's choice. Although pint glasses, mugs and pilsners are popular, custom-designed vessels can be purchased for an additional fee. VIP tickets, which include extra perks, are also available for purchase.
