Lucifer Furnaces: Dual-Chamber Furnaces (posted 8/12/09)

Model 8000 LI furnaces are fiber-lined, space-saving, dual-chamber units featuring energy-efficient ceramic fiber insulation.

Lucifer Furnaces’ 8000 LI furnaces are fiber-lined, space-saving, dual-chamber units featuring energy-efficient ceramic fiber insulation and a complete heat-treat station in one location. In the upper chamber, lightweight, low-mass ceramic fiber insulation reduces operating costs by requiring less electrical power than traditional brick.

Low-mass, coil-wound heating elements mounted on ceramic rods for rapid heating and cool-down result in more heat cycles per work day for greater productivity. Being individual units, the heating elements are less costly to replace than those in most brick-lined and other fiber-lined furnaces. Their easy accessibility also reduces downtime.

The upper hardening chamber is rated up to 2200°F, while the lower draw chamber is rated up to 1600°F. The lower draw chamber is equipped with a fan assembly and stainless steel liner for recirculation and uniform temperature. Each chamber is individually operated with separate digital controls, thermocouple and contactor.

Standard equipment includes pre-mounted horizontal swing doors for safety and easy operation. Accessories include quench tanks, overtemp safety systems and recorders. All units are prewired, tested and shipped ready for connection to the customer’s power supply. The 8000 LI furnaces are available in chamber sizes ranging from 6 x 6 x 6 in. to 12 x 18 x 36 in.
