Lucifer Furnaces: Heavy-Duty Alloy Muffle Furnaces (posted 5/1/08)

A complete line of large alloy muffle furnaces (5000 AM series) is available from Lucifer Furnaces, Inc. The 5000 AM models are equipped with a corrugated alloy retort that separates the chamber refractory and heating elements from the workload and atmosphere to minimize scale and oxidation. The retort reduces atmosphere consumption, shortens the purge time and helps achieve lower dew points.

A gasketed door assembly with clamping handles insures a positive seal against the front flange of the retort. 5000 AM models are rated for workloads up to 50 lbs per square foot of hearth area. Heating elements are heavy gauge, coil wound and easy to replace. Energy-efficient lightweight firebrick and mineral wool insulation minimize heat loss.

The 5000 AM models are rated for 2050°F operation and can be used with inert or flammable atmosphere. For flammable atmospheres, the furnace package incorporates an atmosphere safety system designed in accordance with NFPA 86C regulations. A supervised flame curtain and supervised burn off, complete with visual and audible alarms, are available accessories.

The 5000 AM product line is available in 22 standard sizes with chamber sizes ranging from 8 x 12 x 18 in. to 24 x 24 x 36 in. All models are completely wired, assembled and shipped ready for connection to 230 or 460 voltage and regulated atmosphere pressure of 5 psi. These models are ruggedly constructed and designed for production work or small loads.
