Malvern Instruments has launched the MPT-2, a new autotitrator designed for use with the recently introduced Zetasizer Nano series of particle characterization systems. Zetasizer Nano systems are used for measuring particle size, zeta potential, and molecular weight of molecules and nano-sized particles. The new autotitrator allows users to make multi-parameter measurements automatically using under 5 mL of sample, enabling the comprehensive analysis of even scarce materials. This is especially important for zeta potential determinations, which are often used alone to make comparisons between materials and formulations. However, measuring zeta potential as a function of pH, conductivity and other parameters provides much greater insight into the processes involved in disperse systems.
