Simultaneous Batching System

Ingredient Masters, Inc.
A new batching system can simultaneously processes up to 20 batches per hour, each with up to 24 components. The system is engineered for recipe sizes of 10 to 200 lbs. each, and maintains ingredient accuracy of ± .02 lbs. per ingredient with the use of screw (spiral-type) feeders. Systems engineered to handle very high ingredient volumes, or very large batches, can be specified for auto valve release. The transfer conveyor can be scaled for gain-in-weight, which provides slightly higher accuracy, or loss-in-weight, which is faster. The batching systems are customized to the application and can often be engineered to incorporate existing powder-handling devices. Call (513) 231-7432 or visit www.ingredientmasters.com.

Dense-Phase Conveyors

Cyclonaire Corp.
The DPV-B series of dense-phase conveyors is ideal for moving large quantities of powdered, granular or pelletized friable and abrasive materials. Standard units are rated at 100-plus tons per hour and provide high material-to-air ratios and extremely low line velocities, resulting in smaller line sizes, lower air consumption, reduced dust problems, and lower capital investment and operating costs. Abrasive wear and particle degradation are also minimized. DPV-B conveyors feature vacuum loading with bottom discharge and fit where low headroom makes other types of conveyors impractical. Units can be used for bulk unloading, in-plant transfer, scaling and batching, and they can be customized for almost any dense-phase conveying application. Call (800) 445-0730 or (402) 362-2000, or e-mail sales@cyclonaire.com.

Bulk Bag Unloader

Metso BEST, Inc.
The model MTU-2500 bulk bag unloader with bag extension is designed for optimum discharge of problematic caked or packed bulk solids materials. The unit’s upper bag transport support frame is mounted on four permanently gas-filled cylinders. As the load in the bulk bag diminishes, the frame raises the bag, elongating its nose. Remaining material is efficiently and effectively discharged. Standard equipment includes safety and dust control features, bag transporter, bag untie via dust-control access door, 3 in. diameter dust take-off port, pre-punched uni-strut frame, bag agitation air cylinders for controlled unloading, manually operated valve, and filter/regulator control. Call (330) 273-1277 or (800) 827-9237, fax (330) 225-8740, e-mail sales@bestvibes.com, or visit www.bestvibes.com.

Cryogenic Cover for Attritor

Union Process, Inc.
A new cryogenic cover has been developed for the 1-S Laboratory Attritor to facilitate easier flow of liquid nitrogen into the grinding chamber. More customers are exploring size reduction at super-low temperatures in an attempt to achieve better results. This special cover fits both the 1.5 and 2.5-gal models of the 1-S. For cryogenic grinding, the company uses a stainless steel tank with a stainless steel jacket. A versatile, reliable and rugged mill, the 1-S is designed to meet virtually any lab grinding and dispersing need, wet or dry.  Visit www.unionprocess.com.
