In order to foster awareness and increase the cooperation among students and faculty members in various departments, colleges and universities involved in materials-based research in general, and in ceramics in particular, the Michigan/Northwest Ohio Section of the American Ceramic Society is organizing a research poster competition among the students and faculty advisors from institutions of higher learning located in the states of Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and Indiana. The one-day event, which will take place in November 2005, will be held in the College of Engineering of the University of Toledo. Cash prizes will be awarded. Additional details will be available by the end of August, and the deadline for participation is October 31.
