Micromeritics Announces Instrument Grant Award Winner (1/16/07)

Micromeritics has awarded an AutoChem II 2920 Catalyst Characterization System to the Berkeley Catalysis Center in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of California Berkeley. Micromeritics recently launched its Instrument Grant Program to provide particle characterization instruments to non-profit universities and research organizations for the purpose of fostering and supporting meritorious research projects.

“The Autochem II 2920 chemisorption analyzer with related components will be an integral and critical piece of characterization equipment within the UC Berkeley Catalysis Center,” said Alexander Katz, associate professor of Chemical Engineering and principal investigator. “This instrument will be used to determine the concentration and acid/base characteristics of catalytic active sites on solids in a fashion that cannot be accomplished by other techniques.”
