One project high on Mikin’s priority list in his new position is to establish process metrics that will enable NSL to relate its many operating procedures to one another. “I’m a great believer in managing what you measure,” said Mikin. “Process mapping will allow NSL to measure the overall health of its processes to provide continuous improvement and improved productivity.”
“NSL is committed to quality and delivering results you can rely on,” said Larry Somrack, president. “The addition of Craig to lead NSL’s quality team will enhance our ability to provide accurate, reliable testing in a timely manner.”
NSL participates in a rigorous program of certifications and approvals worldwide. The company meets or exceeds standards set by government and private industry, and it maintains accreditation or “approved laboratory” status in accordance with a number of testing protocols. NSL was recently recertified as meeting the requirements of the Performance Review Institute (PRI), ISO/IEC 17025, Nadcap, Snecma and the Nuclear Industry Assessment Committee (NIAC). In addition, NSL has approvals from hundreds of other manufacturing, aerospace, ceramic, powder metal and nuclear power companies.
