With their chemical inertness, resistance to protein binding and optical properties, MAC's ceramic materials and coatings provide an ideal environment for microarray slides used in the analysis of DNA and proteins. Along with traditional light-colored ceramic materials, MAC offers dark-colored ceramics for microarrays, which are ideal because they do not reflect light or interfere with the tracking of florescence during sample analysis. Zirconia toughened alumina (ZTA), Macor(R) machinable glass ceramic and high purity alumina ceramics are among the materials MAC offers for these demanding applications.
