The new "HD" Series of miniature rotary batch mixers from Munson Machinery Co., Inc. features a rugged internal design and drive for materials having bulk densities up to 80 lbs/cu ft (1.28 gm/cc). Equally suited for laboratory testing and 24/7 blending of materials that are heavy, abrasive or otherwise place high demands on production equipment, HD Series mixers are said to blend ingredients in parts as small as one per million with 100% uniformity. The mixer features a rotating drum with proprietary mixing flights that tumble, turn and fold material gently while achieving total uniformity in two to three minutes, regardless of disparities in the bulk densities, particle sizes or flow characteristics of batch ingredients. According to the manufacturer, the unit evacuates 100% of the batch and can be cleaned rapidly with no tools.
