Murata Receives Supplier Award (posted 11/1/07)

Murata Electronics North America recently announced that it has been awarded a Total Cost of Ownership Supplier Award from Celestica.

Murata Electronics North America recently announced that it has been awarded a Total Cost of Ownership (TCOO™) Supplier Award from Celestica, a global provider of innovative electronics manufacturing services (EMS). This award recognizes suppliers that provide the best TCOO performance to Celestica and are committed to helping the company meet its customers’ needs.

“Murata is proud to be recognized by Celestica,” said Tom Taylor, global account manager at Murata. “This announcement underscores how important these types of relationships can be. We look forward to continued collaboration and success in the years to come.”

“Congratulations to Murata for being recognized with a 2006 TCOO Supplier Award,” said John Boucher, chief supply chain and procurement officer, Celestica. “I sincerely thank the company for supporting our supply chain strategy to provide customers with the flexibility they need to overcome any challenge and to respond quickly to changes in end-market demand.”

This marks the first year of Celestica’s TCOO Supplier Awards program. The new program aligns with Celestica’s Ring strategy, which focuses on shortening lead times through enhanced supplier proximity, and its TCOO supply chain strategy, which helps customers deliver high-quality products to market quickly and at the lowest total cost. Celestica’s TCOO system is designed to calculate the true cost to produce, deliver and support products and services beyond the supplier invoice price. As such, it values the following supplier attributes: quality, delivery, technology, service, pricing and flexibility.
