A team of veterans from the nanotechnology field and the micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) and semiconductor industries recently announced the launch of NanoVance Inc., a company that integrates those technologies to provide nano-devices. NanoVance's business model addresses challenges such as the high costs of design and fabrication that are involved with commercializing nano-devices. Bringing cohesion to these fragmented industries, the company uses its network of partners to design, develop, manufacture, package and test its customers' devices. The new company's management team includes Ellery R. Buchanan, chairman, chief executive officer and co-founder; Daniel S. Nelson, president, chief operating officer and co-founder; and Larry Thompson, chief technology officer.
