The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recently announced the availability of its new comprehensive "Standard Reference Materials Catalog." NIST supplies industry, academia, government and other users with over 1300 reference materials of the highest quality and metrological value. This system has met the needs of U.S. industry and commerce for nearly 100 years and continues to evolve to satisfy more demanding measurement requirements as well as increasing demands on quality and traceability. The new catalog lists these reference materials with carefully assigned values for chemical composition and physical properties.
