New England Section Announces Meeting In September

The New England Section of the American Ceramic Society will hold a section meeting September 15, 2005, at the Higgins Armory in Worcester, Mass. Partly sponsored by Saint-Gobain High-Performance Materials, the meeting's theme will be "Armor, Ancient and Medieval to Modern." James W. McCauley, Ph.D., of the U.S. Army Research Laboratory will give a presentation titled "Towards Designing Ceramics for Armor Applications." The meeting will also feature a tour of the Higgins Armory, the only museum in the Western Hemisphere entirely devoted to the study and display of arms and armor. The cost for the event, including dinner, is $30. To register, e-mail neacers@gmail.com; payment will be taken at the event. The deadline for advanced registration is September 9.
