Norton Abrasives: Grinding Wheel

A new line of grinding wheels has been introduced by Norton Abrasives. The wheels combine the new, economical 55A aluminum oxide grain with proven performance VH bond for use in surface, cylindrical, centerless plunge and through-feed grinders. The superior form holding characteristics of VH bond allows these wheels to generate superior results on simple to complex shapes. The most popular 55A wheels in diameters of 14-42 in. and thicknesses of 1-3 in. are maintained in unfinished blank stock. For testing purposes, these wheels can be obtained in two weeks from Norton authorized distributors. In addition to the blank stock, 55A wheels can be custom engineered in thicknesses of up to 10 in., with a wide range of grit sizes, grades and structures. In customer tests on precision components like bearing rings, cam lobes and steering system housing parts, Norton 55A wheels have improved part quality while lowering cost by increasing parts per wheel and parts per dress versus competitive A/O wheels.
