The NSG Group recently announced plans to close its Pilkington Automotive glazing plant in Eisenerz, Austria. The decision was taken because of rapidly deteriorating conditions in the European automotive industry, which have led to a sharp reduction in orders. The closure affects 69 employees at the Eisenerz plant, where the Group's automotive business line, Pilkington Automotive, produces windshields for the automotive OE and aftermarket sectors.
