OCCS Goes Live Online

The Overall Construction Classification System (OCCS) is envisioned as a common standard using consistent terminology to classify all aspects of the process used for constructing and sustaining the built environment -- from conception through demolition. The OCCS will be free and available to all public and private construction industry organizations. Input is currently needed from professionals from every phase of construction. The website, www.occsnet.org, is up and running and ready for participants to log on, gain insight and help with the system's development. Existing classification systems are also requested for comparison and possible incorporation into the OCCS.

For additional information, call the Construction Specifications Institute at (800) 689-2900, or visit http://www.csinet.org or http://www.occsnet.org.
