Oglebay Norton Co. recently announced that it has been included in the revised Russell 3000 and Russell 2000 indexes, effective July 1, 2001. The annual reconstitution of the Russell 3000 Index captures the 3000 largest U.S. stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market capitalization. The Russell 2000 Index is comprised of the smallest 2000 companies in the Russell 3000 Index. The indexes are widely used as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies. They are maintained by the Frank Russell Co., a global investment services company. Russell revises the indexes annually on July 1.
