Oglebay Norton Co. recently announced results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2000. Revenues for the third quarter reached $103.3 million, a 21% gain from $85.4 million in the year-earlier period, and were $250.1 million for the first nine months, up 15% compared to $217.1 million in the first nine months of 1999. Net income for the third quarter increased 19% to $7.6 million from $6.4 million in the year-earlier period. Earnings per share, assuming dilution, were $1.52, a 15% improvement compared to $1.32 in the third quarter of 1999. Net income for the nine-month period was $11.3 million, an improvement of 22% from $9.3 million reported in the year-earlier nine-month period.
