MoreOhio Governor Bob Taft recently announced that more than $6 million in grants have been awarded to seven Ohio companies and research collaborations to assist in the commercialization and adaptation of fuel cell technologies through the Third Frontier Fuel Cell Program (TFFCP). The Third Frontier Commission approved the grants following a review and scoring by Teratec Corp., an independent evaluating organization. "Through the Ohio Fuel Cell Program, Ohio is leading the way in fuel cell development," Taft said. "These grants will foster growth in an industry that has great potential to create jobs, grow Ohio's economy and alleviate our reliance on foreign sources of energy." The 2006 TFFCP award recipients include HydroGen Corp.; SOFCo-EFS Holdings LLC; Edison Materials Technology Center; OnPower, Inc.; Pemery Corp.; Catacel Corp.; and NexTech Materials, Ltd.
