ONLINE EXTRA: Look Inside NAHB National Green Building Conference & Expo

The National Association of Home Builders’ National Green Building Conference & Expo is scheduled to take place May 1-3, with pre-conference courses April 27-30, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. More than 1100 builders, remodelers, architects, land planners, subcontractors and marketers will gather to share their perspectives and gain insights to offer better green building and developing.

 

HGTV’s Holmes is Keynote Speaker

On Monday, May 2, keynote speaker Mike Holmes, host of “Holmes on Homes™” and “Holmes Inspection” on HGTV, will address the audience at the opening session. Holmes advises home owners around the world on how to manage renovations, home repairs and maintenance on his TV shows. A contractor who knows the importance of resourcefulness and craftsmanship, his experience in new home construction and sustainable building has garnered him a growing fan base.

 

Pre-Conference Courses

Three courses are offered in the pre-conference program: “Advanced Green Building: Building Science,” “Green Building for Building Professionals” and “Business Management for Building Professionals.”

 

Other Highlights

This year’s conference includes Rise and Shine and Power Hour educational and demonstration sessions in the exhibit hall, GreenTensives, and a Home Tour that shows green building principles put into practice. 

The National Green Building Awards will recognize individuals and projects that have made a difference over the past year at an awards dinner on Monday, May 2.
