ONLINE EXTRA: Look Inside Pittcon 2010

The Pittcon Conference & Expo 2010 will be held February 28-March 5, 2010, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

The Pittcon Conference & Expo 2010, the annual conference and exposition on laboratory science, will be held February 28-March 5, 2010, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. Organized by The Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy, a Pennsylvania not-for-profit educational corporation that comprises the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh (SSP) and the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh (SACP), attracts nearly 20,000 visitors and over 1000 exhibiting companies from 90 countries worldwide.

Leading scientists from industry, academia and government will present their most recent research or discuss today's most pressing scientific issues during more than 2000 technical presentations. Topics to be covered include alternative fuels, chemical imaging, materials science, microfluidics, nanotechnology, petrochemical, regulatory affairs and more. Short courses will also be offered, ranging in length from one-half day to two days, and will be taught by experienced professionals who are experts in their fields.

A number of two-hour informal networking sessions have been added to Pittcon this year, providing a face-to-face forum for attendees with mutual interests to share experiences and brainstorm new ideas. Other educational opportunities include workshops, poster sessions, a plenary lecture, and lunch and learn programs.

New to Pittcon 2010 is the International Help Desk, staffed with interpreters to assist international attendees. Pittcon Night at Universal Studios has been added as a special networking event. Also new this year are two additional areas on the exhibition floor, the French Pavilion and the Technology Park.
