Orton Make Personnal Announcements

In an effort to bolster thermal instrumentation and kiln controllers sales, the Orton Ceramic Foundation has hired Reed D. Slevin as product manager for instruments and has promoted Jim Baldwin to product manger for controllers. Slevin joined Orton on September 16 and will be responsible for sales, marketing and product development for the instruments division. A graduate of The Ohio State University with bachelor's and master's degrees in ceramic engineering, he brings a vast amount of sales and marketing experience to Orton, in addition to technical knowledge. Prior to joining Orton, Slevin worked at Harrop Industries for eight years, serving as general manager of the instrument group (which Orton acquired in 1999) and in other positions. He will direct his efforts on expanding domestic and international sales of current Orton instruments, and he plans to develop new instruments for emerging material technologies. Baldwin will concentrate on the sales and marketing of Orton's line of digital temperature controllers by promoting sales to kiln OEMs and by seeking new markets. With over 11 years of experience working in the development and production of Orton controllers, he is committed to providing customers with advice and support to meet their temperature controller needs.
