Paragon recently introduced a front-loading kiln called the Iguana, which comes with the Sentry digital temperature controller manufactured by the Orton Ceramic Foundation for Paragon. The new kiln is rated to 2350F (cone 10) and is 4.2 cubic feet. The interior of the kiln measures 18 x 18 x 22 1/2 in. high. Paragon designed the kiln especially for people who do not want to bend down to load a kiln. With the 22-in.-tall stand, the Iguana's floor height is 34 1/2 in. The Orton Sentry controller includes a programmed cool-down for experimenting with glazes and cooling rates, and the Iguana includes a switch that shuts off power to the controller when not in use.
