Paragon's newest small digital front-loading kilns are made of insulating firebrick. Except for the larger Xpress-E-14A, the company's new Xpress E-9A, Xpress E-10A and Xpress-Q-11A kilns can ship by UPS. The Xpress E and Q series kilns feature a 3-key digital controller in the base. The front control panel is tilted, and the side-mounted switch box of earlier models has been eliminated. The Xpress-Q-11A fires to 2300F on a common 120-volt outlet. The kiln is used for enameling, silver clay, glass jewelry, beads, ceramics, stoneware, porcelain and glaze testing. The Xpress E-series kilns are larger and used for enameling, silver clay, glass, beads and low-fire ceramics. Heating elements are threaded in dropped, recessed insulating firebrick grooves.
