Acta Technology recently announced that Pechiney has selected Acta's data integration platform as the standard extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) environment for its global operations. This move supports Pechiney's purchasing strategy and enables the group to negotiate global supply contracts and consolidate its purchasing power. Pechiney, with 320 manufacturing and sales facilities in 50 countries, launched a new purchasing strategy in 1999 that relies heavily on a corporate data warehouse that enables business users to analyze and consolidate purchases by various units of the group. ActaWorks(TM) is used to extract, transform and load data from heterogeneous sources to feed the data warehouse with business critical information, eliminating the need for time consuming and costly programming and development.
