The one-day workshop (September 10) will employ an integrated approach to strategic planning and promotion for individual artists with a goal of helping artists break the crisis management cycle and increase their satisfaction in their art practice and career. The cost of the workshop is $40, which includes lunch and snacks. Some housing is available for participants who are traveling from a distance.
The weekend workshop (September 11-13) is an intensive two-and-a-half-day crash-course in self management, strategic planning, fundraising and promotion. Up to 24 participants will be selected after a review of applications. The weekend workshop is open to artists living in the following Western North Carolina counties: Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Cherokee, Clay, Granville, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, Watauga, and Yancey; as well as the following counties in East Tennessee: Carter, Cocke, Greene, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington. There is no tuition charged for the weekend workshop, but there is a $60 fee for meals and snacks. On-campus housing is available for $80 per night; participants are not required to stay on campus.
