Porous Materials Inc. (PMI) has released its new multi-chamber and multi-mode porometer. The key feature of this porometer is its use of five sample chambers. Four of these chambers are used for fast sample characterization, such as that used for efficient production control. The fifth sample chamber can be used to perform more sophisticated tests -- samples can be tested using the standard method or in compression mode. In this mode, the sample is maintained under desired compressive stress during the duration of the test. The multi-chamber and multi-mode porometer is a fully automated instrument containing a number of technological innovations, state-of-the-art components and sophisticated Windows-based software so that testing time is as little as three minutes and operator involvement is minimal.
