David E. Sharick, PPG Industries' director of corporate development, has been elected vice president of the company. Aziz S. Giga, director of strategic planning, also was elected vice president, reporting to Sharick. Sharick joined PPG in 1985. He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from St. Francis (Pa.) College and a master's degree in business administration from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. Giga joined PPG in 1977. A native of Kenya, he earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Makerere University in Uganda. He received a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago and a doctorate in chemistry from Brandeis University.
