In a competition sponsored by PPG Industries, winning designs by students of Detroit's College for Creative Studies (CCS) show how glass can provide differentiation while adding utility, style, luxury, comfort and convenience for a 2008 vehicle. PPG's Ernest Hahn, vice president, automotive glass, presented the PPG Design Challenge Awards for 2002 to these CCS transportation design sophomores: first place, Shane Lindsay of New Lenox, Ill.; second place, Takahiko Suginoshita of Tokyo, Japan; and third place, Daniel Bohman of Fairfax, Va. Hahn presented the awards in the third annual auto glass design competition during ceremonies at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The students received scholarships of $1500 for first place, $1000 for second place and $500 for third place.
