Precision Q Systems, LLC, manufacturer of the OSCOM family of emissions control and fuel efficiency systems, recently announced the launch of its model NGEA-4-3000, which is designed to deliver up to a 70% drop in NOx emissions coupled with up to a 5% increase in fuel efficiency. OSCOM (utilizing Oscillating Combustion Technology) provides a cost-effective retrofit NOx reduction system for gas-fired heat treating furnaces. OSCOM reduces NOx by creating successive fuel rich and lean zones of combustion within the flame envelope. At optimal frequencies and amplitudes, the flame temperature is reduced, which results in lower NOx while maintaining the same energy input. Additionally, the increased luminosity of the fuel rich portion of the flame results in efficiency improvements by as much as 5%.
