The PLM-1.5 laboratory-sized double planetary mixer has a mix can with a 1.4 liter mix capacity, allowing users to mix as little as 500 ml of product. According to the company, the unit is designed to handle materials of extremely high viscosity or those requiring delicate mixing action. It has reportedly proven itself ideal for castable ceramics, metal composites, thick film inks, potting compounds and adhesives. The close tolerances maintained between the mix blades and the tank wall, and the mix blades to the bottom of the tank ensure extremely efficient mixing action, which reduces process time and increases heat transfer without the need for scrapers, the company reports.
