Acimac (Italian Ceramic Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers’ Association) recently announced that Fabio Tarozzi of Siti B&T Group has begun his role as chairman, succeeding Pietro Cassani of Sacmi.
“It is with great pride and sense of responsibility that I am preparing to lead our association, which represents a lively and dynamic sector as demonstrated by the figures for 2011,” Tarozzi said. “Our sector maintains its role as world leader in terms of market share and innovation, and for this reason we will be seeking to further improve its performance during my chairmanship.”
During Tarozzi’s four-year chairmanship (2012-2016), the association is expected to concentrate on strengthening support for exports. “Export markets offer the greatest potential for our technologies,” said Tarozzi. “We must seek to strengthen relations with the international customers’ trade associations, intensifying the analyses conducted by our Studies Centre and forging closer links with the institutions involved in supporting internationalisation, such as ICE, Sace and Simest, which we hope will complete the structural reforms in progress at the earliest opportunity.”
Tarozzi will also continue to promote an awareness of the importance of dimensional growth of companies, which is reportedly the weakness faced by small- and medium-sized companies wishing to pursue international development. The association will also focus on seeking research and innovation funding and on liaising with schools and universities with a view to selecting the best academic profiles.
